tungsten carbide products
Offering a complete range of synthetic diamond grits and powder products to suit a wide variety of applications and industries. Operating a range of synthetic diamond synthesis and processing technologies to manufacture materials in different sizes, shapes and strengths to suit all needs while maintaining a strict quality control processes to consistently offer the best possible materials, and is certified across all production sites to ISO 9001 standards.
Tungsten carbide is a material used for a number of industrial applications and it is characterised by its high strength, toughness and hardness. It is mainly used in the form of cemented tungsten carbides. Cemented carbides (also known as hardmetals) are made by ‘cementing’ grains of tungsten carbide into a binder matrix of cobalt or/and nickel.
Our tungsten carbide inserts are used in the mining, construction, tunnelling, oil and gas, forestry and agriculture industries. For more information, please see our brochure ‘Tungsten carbide inserts’.
Road planing picks
Picks are available in our standard tungsten carbide grade (B15N), our MasterGrade® (B15MN) and our new premium D PowerTM brand. Long-term test results show that our D PowerTM Road Picks have a life expectancy 40 times greater than standard picks on the market. For more information on our picks and accessories, please see our brochures in Road Planing Picks.
Round attack picks
We offer a full range of tools and tooling systems for mining, tunnelling and construction. We offer high-quality round shank picks with inserts from 8 to 30mm, and shaft diameters from 10 to 42mm, with a range of customised pick designs, retainer systems and inserts available to specific customer requirements.
We offer high performance tungsten carbide drill bits for the mining, tunnelling and construction industries.
Wear parts tools
Our tungsten carbide wear parts tools are used to prevent premature wear in numerous industrial sectors, including mineral processing, surface and sand blasting technology, roof tiling, agriculture, pump and valve parts for the oil and gas industry, the textile and paper industry, and the machine building industry.
PCD drill bits
In applications where drill bit life is dominated by abrasive wear PCD bits perform in an order of magnitude compared to the lifetime achieved by tungsten carbide bits. PCD drill bits are particularly suited for abrasive rock conditions where tool life, high penetration rates and consistent drilled hole quality are important.
We are one of the leading producers of tools for special applications, many of them created to meet our customers’ individual requirements. Our special tools such as weld-on bars, weld-on cutting teeth and flat picks can be used for a number of common application areas.
Our burr blanks are mainly used in the cutting and removing of rough edges in the aviation, shipbuilding and automotive industries, and offer high performance and longer service life under the most testing of conditions. We supply Imperial and DIN standard, and specialist blanks, all in our premium S6 (6% cobalt) tungsten carbide range, with other grades available.
THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE RIGHT CUTTING
Characterised by extreme strength, toughness and hardness, Tungsten Carbide is highly resistant to wear and high temperatures. As a result, Element Six’s products offer significant wear protection and retain their sharp cutting edges much longer – ensuring an optimum finish and drilling efficiency. Wherever materials are cut, sawn, drilled or ground in the mining, chemical and oil and gas industries, moving up from steel to Tungsten Carbide can improve tool life, dimensional accuracy, cost efficiency and productivity.
